Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah performed the bhoomi pujan of the new BJP Maharashtra office in Mumbai on Monday. Highlighting the party’s organizational journey, ideology, and commitment to public service, the BJP is not a party of dynastic politics but one that upholds democratic values. The BJP office is not merely a building for party workers—it is like a temple, a sacred place where their work begins, where the party’s principles are preserved and nurtured, and where every worker finds a center for training and organization. Calling for Maharashtra’s “Double Engine Government” to become a “Triple Engine Government,” Shri Shah emphasized that BJP’s goal is not just to contest elections but to win with a massive majority. The event was attended by Maharashtra  Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, BJP State President Shri Ravindra Chavan, cabinet ministers, and senior leaders of the Maharashtra government.

Shri Shah commenced his address by paying solemn tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Punyashlok Ahilyabai, marking the inauguration of a historic new chapter for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra. He described the Bhoomi Pujan for the party’s new state office as a profoundly significant moment for all BJP karyakartas, particularly those in Maharashtra, representing a landmark beginning in the party’s organizational expansion and development in the state.

Union Home Minister stated, Since the establishment of our party, from 1950 to 2025, every karyakarta of the Bharatiya Janata Party, from the smallest to the most senior leader, knows that the party office is nothing less than a temple for us. It is in the office that our work takes shape; it is there that the principles of our party are preserved and strengthened. The office serves as a college where a shubhechuk transforms into a dedicated karyakarta, and it is there that every karyakarta receives practical training. For other parties, the party office may simply be a workplace, but for the karyakarta of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the office is no less than a temple.

Shri Shah stated that since the formation of the Jan Sangh, we have always believed in running a political party based on the foundation of organization. We have consistently shaped our policies on the basis of principles and have never hesitated to struggle, no matter how difficult, for the welfare of India and its people. The place where these three objectives: organization, principle, and public welfare comes together is the office of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shri Shah extended heartfelt congratulations to the State President, Maharashtra CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji, all former presidents, and every karyakarta across Maharashtra and stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra stands firmly on its own strength, not with the support of any crutch. Just as the Bharatiya Janata Party holds a distinct and indelible place in the politics and ideological framework of India, it now stands as a strong and decisive force in the political landscape of Maharashtra as well.

Union Home Minister stated that the construction of a state party office of this kind is a matter of great pride. A roughly 55,000-square-foot office that includes a library, six meeting rooms, a conference room, and a 400-seat auditorium. Most importantly, the State President’s office is there, and an office for the Chief Minister has also been built, which will always remind the Chief Minister that he was elected from this very party office and now governs the state of Maharashtra. The facility also features multi-level basement parking, a medical center, a reception, and a waiting lounge. For karyakartas, Maharashtra CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis was asked to ensure the construction of three to four rooms so that party karyakartas can stay at the office when needed.

Shri Shah expressed joy that the Maharashtra unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party had not only grown strong in the state but had also remembered its traditions and proven that through its actions. This land is where the Jan Sangh and the Janata Party merged, and the Bharatiya Janata Party was formed. Former PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji had said in 1980, “Andhera Chatega, Kamal Khilega,” and by 1996 we saw Atal ji becoming Prime Minister. For the past 11 years, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has been Prime Minister three times, so in effect, BJP Karyakartas led the country for nearly 18 years. This is a matter of great pride. Shri Amit Shah respectfully paid tribute to all the party karyakartas and leaders from the days of the Jan Sangh till today, who persevered through severe hardships, laid the party’s foundation, sowed the seeds of its ideas, and nurtured those seeds with their sweat until the sapling grew into a great tree.

Union Home Minister stated that he too had the opportunity to become the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP is the only political party in India where even a booth president can rise to become the national president and Shri Shah is an example of that. The journey in the BJP began in 1981 as a booth president, and the party later gave him the opportunity to become the national president. This proves the BJP is not run on the basis of family legacy but on democratic values. In the BJP, those who work hard, move forward with commitment to the party’s principles, and demonstrate performance can become senior leader. BJP has proven that the politics of dynastic parties will no longer work in this country; it will be the politics of performance that will lead the nation. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri  Narendra Ji is the finest example of this. Someone born in the humble home of a poor tea-seller rose, through his dedication, service, commitment, and patriotism, to become the Prime Minister of this country and has had the privilege of being elected to the post three times.

Shri Shah stated that a party incapable of upholding democratic principles within its own internal functioning can never safeguard the nation’s democracy, sending a strong message to dynastic political parties. On the occasion of the Maharashtra BJP performing the Bhoomi Pujan for its new state office, he urged the State President and Shri Devendra Fadnavis to ensure the establishment of Bharatiya Janata Party offices across one hundred percent of Maharashtra’s districts by December 2026, completing the remaining organizational work.

Union Home Minister stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party has established a significant organizational presence across nearly 660 challenging districts, including the smaller districts of the North-East. Out of these, party offices have become operational in 397 districts, with work actively progressing in 90 more, reflecting the nation’s advancement toward comprehensive organizational coverage. He attributed this expansive reach from Panchayats to Parliament to the profound legacy of leaders like Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who dedicated every moment of their lives and every fiber of their being to the party’s principles and the service of Mother India. This nationwide presence stands as the virtuous outcome of their immense sacrifices and dedication.

Shri Shah said that the 2015 elections, held during his presidency of the party, involved respectful attempts at negotiation that ultimately proved unsuccessful. Following the breakdown of that alliance, the party contested independently after a considerable period and successfully provided Maharashtra with its first Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Minister. Under the leadership of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the NDA subsequently achieved victory in the state for three consecutive terms, and Shri Fadnavis now stands before the people once again as Chief Minister. While the establishment of a double-engine government in Maharashtra may bring satisfaction to many, Shri Shah expressed his own aspiration for a triple-engine government, encompassing dominance from the Tehseel and Zila Panchayats to the Municipalities and Corporations. He called upon the BJP karyakartas to contest the upcoming elections with such immense vigor and determination that the opposition is entirely wiped out from the political landscape, ensuring a victory achieved through a campaign of overwhelming momentum and relentless effort.

Shri Shah stated that the people of the state are prepared to welcome the Bharatiya Janata Party, reflecting a significant political transformation. From being the fourth-ranked party in Maharashtra in 2014, the BJP has now emerged as the state’s primary political force, a trend mirrored across the nation. Upon achieving a full majority government, the party has actualized Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s principle of Antyodaya by substantially improving the lives of 60 crore impoverished citizens through provision of housing, household electricity, gas cylinders, sanitation facilities, drinking water, free food grains, and healthcare coverage up to ₹5 lakhs. The Union Home Minister further highlighted the government’s economic achievements, elevating the country’s economy from the eleventh to the fourth global position while fostering unprecedented national prosperity.

Union Home Minister stated that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the nation’s security has been decisively strengthened. The security forces have ensured that both perpetrators and sponsors of terrorism face severe consequences for all major terrorist attacks on the country. Recent operations like Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev stand as powerful examples, where forces targeted terrorists responsible for attacking Pahalgam tourists. Shri Amit Shah stated that while terrorists had targeted and killed innocent pilgrims based on their faith, India’s security forces responded by decisively striking the perpetrators within Pakistani territory without any religious considerations. This resolute action demonstrated that any threat to India’s sovereignty would be met with an uncompromising response, firmly establishing the nation’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism. These actions have sent a clear message globally that any provocation against India’s borders or military will be met with unequivocal and decisive retaliation.

Shri Shah stated that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji government has pioneered numerous new dimensions of development, with the recent inauguration of a major global summit on maritime sectors marking a significant milestone. The transformative development of ports and associated industries has been remarkable. As a party guided by ideology and cultural nationalism, the BJP advances the nation based on these foundational principles. The fulfillment of long-standing commitments, dating back to 1950, stands as a testament to this resolve from the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya to the abrogation of Article 370, which had long challenged national unity and integrity by fostering separatist ideologies. Furthermore, the enactment of the CAA, the abolition of triple talaq, and the initiation of a Common Civil Code in several states underscore the completion of the party’s core ideological agenda during these eleven years under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Modi Ji’s leadership.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah stated that the nation now stands focused on the goal of building a self-reliant and fully developed India by 2047. The vision is to create a nation that, upon celebrating its centenary of independence, leads the world in every sector. He emphasized the responsibility to advance the ideological legacy inherited from the party’s founders, ensuring future generations continue to practice politics based on principles. The new Maharashtra BJP office, whose foundation was laid today, will serve as an institution to nurture dedicated karyakartas for decades to come, right up to the centenary of India’s independence. The Union Minister extended his congratulations and best wishes to the entire leadership present on the stage and the thousands of karyakarta representatives gathered for the event.
