Salient Points of Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla’s Press Conference
Those who keep the Constitution on their lips but run a vote-bank shop in their hearts have now not only aligned with Bangladeshi illegal infiltrators or Rohingyas but have also officially embraced the agenda of breaking India into pieces
******************
During a Congress meeting in Sribhumi, Assam, a senior leader of the party sang the Bangladeshi national anthem from the Congress’s official platform. Those who once called Pakistan their “brother” has now become “admirers” of Bangladesh as well
******************
This is not the first time that the Congress has supported forces standing against India. They did not take action against Pakistan after the 26/11 attacks, maintained a soft stand on terrorist attacks, echoed Pakistan’s tone on issues like Article 370 and the surgical strikes, and are now standing with Bangladeshi infiltrators
******************
Since the announcement of the SIR, TMC leaders have been repeatedly issuing threats to incite riots and disrupt peace. This is being done because they do not want a voter list after the SIR that excludes outsiders
******************
The Congress party is openly supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators, while the TMC is conspiring to incite riots to ensure that outsiders continue to remain on the voter list
******************
Today in Bengal, instead of “Maa, Maati, and Manush,” only jihadis, rapists, and rioters are safe. The agenda of the West Bengal government is not to protect “Maa, Maati, and Manush,” but to shield jihadis, rioters, and rapists
******************
Mamata Banerjee should clarify — when the SIR process was conducted before 2014, was it a “backdoor NRC”? In 2005, Mamata Banerjee herself threw papers in the Lok Sabha to register her protest and accused Somnath Chatterjee and the Left parties of turning infiltrators into voters. Was that SIR process then an “NRC” or was it “necessary”?
******************
In 2005, when Mamata Banerjee was demanding an SIR, it was considered right. When it is demanded in Maharashtra, that too is considered right. But today, when a phased SIR has been announced in Bengal and several other states, the same opposition parties are threatening constitutional institutions
******************
In the Durgapur rape case, TMC ministers and leaders blamed the victim, indulging in victim-shaming and victim-blaming. However, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who says “Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon,” did not make a single tweet or utter a single word on the matter
******************
All parties of the INDI Alliance are the same. They keep chanting “Constitution, Constitution,” but what they truly seek is only the vote bank and the business of Sharia. That is why sometimes they become the “brothers” of Bangladesh and Pakistan, and at other times, they stand alongside rioters as their admirers

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shahzad Poonawalla addressed a press conference at the BJP’s central office in New Delhi on Wednesday. During the press conference, Shri Poonaawala said that the true identity of the INDI Alliance is “Zubaan par Samvidhan, mann mein votebank aur Sharia ki dukaan.” He added that the Congress, which once sympathized with Pakistan, has now become an admirer of Bangladesh. Singing Bangladesh’s national anthem from a Congress stage in Assam is the latest proof of this. He said Congress and its leaders have long supported Bangladeshi infiltrators, endangering the nation’s unity and security. National Spokesperson stated that the opposition to a constitutional process like SIR by Congress and TMC is solely to protect their vote bank. In Bengal, TMC leaders are openly threatening the Election Commission and BJP Karyakartas. Shri Poonaawala demanded that Rahul Gandhi, the Congress, and the TMC must answer for this.
Shri Shezad Poonawalla stated that the “INDI Alliance Ki Ek Hi Pehchaan, Juban Pe Samvidhan, Par Man Mein Vote Bank Ki Dukaan Aur Iske Bahut Sare Mil Chuke Praman” (The INDI Alliance has become a symbol of hypocrisy—professing loyalty to the Constitution while pursuing vote-bank politics, with numerous instances already revealing this contradiction.) Those who once told Pakistan, “Pakistan Tu Mera Bhai Jaan, Aaj Congress Party Ban Chuki Hai Bangladesh Ki Kadardan” and evidence of this has also come to light today. Those who keep the Constitution on their lips are running a vote-bank Dukan in their hearts to such an extent that now, not only with Bangladeshi illegal infiltrators or Rohingyas, but even officially, the Congress party’s endorsement of the ‘Bharat ke Tukde Tukde’ agenda stands evident before everyone.
Shri Poonawalla stated that a recent provocative attempt to depict India’s North-East—an integral part of the nation—as belonging to another country has exposed the persistent mindset driven by the intention of dividing India. The Congress party has consistently supported Bangladeshi infiltrators over the years, with the UPA era witnessing systematic settlement of crores of illegal immigrants. From Sam Pitroda to Syeda Hameed and Ghulam Mir, statements were made in support of Bangladeshi infiltrators, on which the BJP held a press conference. And now, the Congress party has officially demonstrated its allegiance by having its senior leaders sing the Bangladeshi national anthem at a party platform in Assam.
BJP National Spokesperson highlighted that Since morning, news channels have been reporting this shocking development — that during an official Congress meeting in Sribhumi, Assam, a senior Congress leader sang the Bangladeshi national anthem from the party’s official platform. They were singing the anthem of the same country that has recently made a provocative gesture aimed at separating India’s North-East, especially Assam, from the rest of the nation — an attempt to divide and fragment India into pieces. This is not the first time that the Congress has openly supported forces working against India. We have earlier seen how the Congress has maintained ties with Pakistan and its agenda — from taking no action against Pakistan after 26/11, giving it a clean chit for the 26/11 attack, showing a soft corner toward Pakistani-sponsored terrorism, and taking a lenient stand on Pakistan. Whether it was opposing the abrogation of Article 370, questioning surgical strikes, or repeatedly echoing Pakistani narratives, the pattern remains consistent.
Shri Shezad Poonawalla stated that the Congress party’s open support for Bangladeshi infiltrators, especially after Bangladesh’s provocative remarks about breaking Bharat into pieces, is not a mere coincidence — it is a deliberate strategy that has now turned into an industry, the ‘Vote-Bank industry.’ Congress leader Sam Pitroda, who refers to North-Eastern Indians as “Chinese,” in September said, “I feel at home in Pakistan and Bangladesh.” Even the Bangladeshi national anthem has been sung on behalf of the Congress party; they had sung Pakistan’s as well. Earlier, Sam Pitroda had also made statements in favor of Pakistan and Bangladesh; he had openly said, ‘So what if Bangladeshi infiltrators have come into this country. We should not object; we should make some adjustments.’ Earlier, Ghulam Mir had openly said during the Jharkhand elections, ‘Our agenda is to give gas cylinders to infiltrators.’
Shri Poonawalla highlighted that Syeda Hameed, who is very close to the Congress party’s first family and was once in the Planning Commission, had stated that Assam is a dangerous place and that if an infiltrator from Bangladesh arrives, India should accept them because it is also their land and their world. By standing with Bangladeshi infiltrators in this way, the Congress party was aligning itself with an anti-national, Tukde-Tukde agenda. Evidence of this could be seen at the Assam Congress party office, where the Bangladesh national anthem is played openly from Sribhumi, Assam. And look at the timing, this statement came just days after Priyank Kharge insulted the youth of Assam by asking, “What talent do the youth of Assam have?” This is the same Congress party that once insulted Bhupen Hazarika Ji. This is the same Congress party whose leader Pt. Nehru said “Bye Bye Assam” during the 1962 war, dropped bombs in the Northeast, and during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, removed Assam from Rahul Gandhi’s map of India. The Congress party has repeatedly disrespected the people, youth, and identity of Assam. On one hand, it openly supports Bangladeshi infiltrators, most of whom entered during the Congress era. Today, infiltration has largely ceased except in parts of Bengal, as most of the India–Bangladesh border is now fenced. It was the Congress government that provided these infiltrators with valid IDs, proof of residence, and other resources. And now, when the NDA government follows the 3D policy – Detect, Delete, and Deport illegal infiltrators – the Congress responds with its own 3D policy – Divide, Distort, and Defend illegals. Via this sequence, the Congress party has today officially declared its stance, which is anti-India.
BJP National Spokesperson pointed out that until yesterday, congress used to be Pakistan ke bhaijaan, and now they have become close to Bangladesh; those who have come out of Bangladesh and are singing the tune of dividing India are being honoured by them. All these actions by the Congress and INDI-alliance partners are driven solely by vote-bank politics. It can be seen today how, in the name of vote bank politics, they are working towards dividing Bharat. This ghuspaithiya-love, the aim of aligning with anti-India forces, is not limited to Congress alone but is being pursued by other INDI alliance parties as well. Whether it is TMC, Congress, or DMK, they are all engaged in the politicsof CAP (Competitive Appeasement Politics). A race of CAP, Competitive Appeasement Politics has begun, where INDI Alliance parties are competing to prove who can go further in appeasement and vote-bank politics. On one hand, the Congress party is now officially supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators from its platform, and on the other hand, the TMC claims to stand with the Constitution, but its actions clearly show it wants to impose jungle aaj and Sharia raj.
Shri Shezad Poonawalla stated that the Election Commission of India has announced Phase 2 of the SIR. The SIR, is a constitutional duty and a constitutional right of the Election Commission, a position that the Supreme Court has also upheld. Before any election, electoral rolls are prepared and it is the Election Commission’s duty to ensure their integrity: the rolls must be accurate, free of errors, and must not contain duplicate names.SIR exercises are not new; they were conducted 8 to 10 times even before 2014. Some forces misuse the name of SIR to do vote-bank politics and to provoke riots. The same bhaijaan committees that incite riots in the name of SIR have again become active.
Shri Poonawalla mentioned that a statement had emerged from TMC leader and MLA Nisith Malik, who had declared that if SIR took place in the country or in Bengal and any names were cut, BJP Karyakartas would be set on fire. Media reports in the morning had highlighted another statement in which Firad Hakim had threatened to break the legs and hands of the Election Commission if the SIR activity was exercised. The same Firad Hakim, known for threatening central forces in the past and for nurturing the idea of a Mini Pakistan,” is regarded as being very close to Mamata Banerjee. Abhishek Banerjee has also threatened. It describes them as an example of individuals entrusted with protecting the Constitution who were instead acting against it. It was further pointed out that Mamata Banerjee herself had stated that if SIR was conducted, riots would erupt in Bengal and across the country, even though she holds direct responsibility for law and order in Bengal as the state’s Home Minister.
Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that another minister, Siddiqullah Chowdhury, has said that SIR will lead to necks being cut. Other TMC leaders, Tajmul Hussain and Sabina Yasmin, have also spoken of inciting riots against SIR and have done so openly from public platforms. Since the SIR exercise was announced there has been a continuous series of incidents in which TMC leaders have been inciting riots, creating unrest, threatening the Election Commission, and now even issuing threats to kill. These actions are motivated by a desire to prevent SIR from producing electoral rolls in which only Bengalis and no outsiders remain, so that only Indian citizens would have the right to vote. One party, the Congress, openly supports Bangladeshi infiltrators, while the other, the TMC, openly conspires and issues threats to keep outsiders on the voter list by fomenting riots. Consequently, in Bengal today it is not “Maa, Maati, Manush” who are safe, but rather Jihadis, Rapists and Rioters, and that the government’s agenda is not to discuss or protect “Maa, Maati, Manush” but to protect only jihadis, rioters and rapists.
National Spokesperson said that in recent days, various statements have emerged regarding the SIR. Mamata Banerjee should clarify — when this same SIR process was conducted before 2014, was it a “backdoor NRC”? And now, after 2014, has it become a “front door NRC”? In 2005, Mamata Banerjee herself threw papers in the Lok Sabha to register her protest and accused Somnath Chatterjee and the Left parties of turning infiltrators into voters. Was that SIR process then an “NRC” or was it “necessary”? When the same opposition parties — Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar), Samajwadi Party, and others — demand SIR before local elections in states like Maharashtra, is that considered a “good SIR”? And when the same process is conducted in 12 other states, does it become a “bad SIR”? Will one SIR be labeled “secular” and another “communal”?
Shri Poonawalla stated that in reality, ‘Yeh SIR Nahi, Yeh Samvidhan Par Vaar Hai. Yeh Vote Bank Ke Yaar Hain, Jise Bachana Apna Parivaar Hai.’ They are focused on saving their political families, as they fear an impending defeat in the upcoming elections. Hence, they are targeting the Election Commission and the SIR process. In Bihar, leaders from the INDI alliance had claimed that 1.5 to 2 crore voters would be removed, yet before the Supreme Court, these parties could not even submit 150 affidavits. Over 80,000 opposition Booth Level Agents (BLAs) failed to file even 150 appeals. The final list prepared after the SIR was accepted by them without filing a single appeal. Moreover, the Supreme Court not only approved the SIR process in Bihar but also reprimanded individuals from the Congress and TMC ecosystem, including Prashant Bhushan, for submitting false affidavits. What is the INDI alliance’s stand on the SIR now? Was it acceptable when Mamata Banerjee herself demanded an SIR in 2005? Was it justified when the same demand was made in Maharashtra? And today, when phase-wise SIR processes are being announced across Bengal and other states, those who claim to be protectors of the Constitution are the very ones issuing threats to constitutional institutions openly using violent language, calling for attacks, beheadings, and arson. Will Mamata Banerjee take action against her ministers and legislators, including Siddiqullah Chowdhury, Tajmul Hossain, Sabina Yasmin, Firhad Hakim, and Nisith Malik?
BJP National Spokesperson stated that under the protection of the Trinamool Congress, there were open attacks carried out in the name of Jungle Raj. BJP tribal MP Shri Khagen Murmu was severely injured and kept in the ICU for many days. More than 150 BJP Karyakartas who were nationalists were killed. During the post-poll violence occurred and the High Court observed that it was not the “rule of law” but the “law of the ruler.” TMC workers targeted SC/ST communities: their homes were burned, they were attacked, and riots were carried out; rapes were committed. In Sandeshkhali, women from SC/ST communities were raped one by one, and the accused, Shahjahan Sheikh, received police protection. Those who commit violence, those who create Jungle Raj, and those who incite riots receive protection from the TMC. It was stated that TMC now stands for a Tanashahi Mindset and Culture. Rahul Gandhi, who claims to be the protector of the Constitution, has not uttered a single word on these incidents. When BJP MP Shri Khagen Murmu was attacked in Bengal, Rahul Gandhi remained silent. In Durgapur, when a minor girl was raped, the Mamata Banerjee government, along with her ministers and leaders, blamed the victim instead – engaging in victim shaming and victim blaming. The truth of the Durgapur rape case has now come out. Firdaus Sheikh has been identified as the mastermind of the incident, and concrete proof of sexual assault has been found. Yet, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who often says “Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon”, did not tweet even once or say a single word on the issue. In order to divert attention from the Durgapur incident, a conspiracy was hatched in the name of the SIR, with D for Divert, D for Distort, D for Dhamki (Threat), and D for Danga (Riot).
Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that the entire toolkit, whether of the INDI Alliance’s Congress Party, TMC, or DMK is the same. These parties keep chanting “Constitution, Constitution,” but what they truly seek is vote bank politics and the establishment of Sharia-driven governance. At times, they become Bhaijaan of Bangladesh and Pakistan, and at other times, they stand as patrons and protectors of rioters and anti-national elements. Shri Shehzad Poonawalla questioned what Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Party, and Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress have to say on these two pressing issues. Whether the Congress Party, the INDI Alliance, and their partner parties would respond to the conspiracy being orchestrated by the Bengal government, a conspiracy to incite riots and target constitutional institutions in the name of SIR. Even today, Bangladesh’s national anthem is being sung inside Congress offices. Whenever Rahul Gandhi plays a national anthem, it somehow turns out to be that of another country. After Pakistan, the Congress Party has now openly aligned itself with Bangladesh under the ‘Tukde Tukde’ agenda. Will Rahul Gandhi, who claims to run a Bharat Jodo Yatra, give a clear answer this time, or will he once again go MIA Missing in Action?”
